BOS Balance Of System Compounds
In a solar power system, the balance of system (BOS) refers to all components and systems other than the solar panels themselves. These components are essential for the proper functioning of the solar energy system. Here are some common balance of system compounds/components in a solar power system:
- Wiring and Connectors: Wiring and connectors are necessary to connect the solar panels to the inverters and then to the electrical grid or the building’s electrical system. We commonly use Orbit, Poly cab, Super lite, Elcom
- Racking and Mounting Hardware: These are used to secure the solar panels to the mounting structures securely.
- Electrical Protection Equipment: This includes devices such as circuit breakers, fuses, and surge protectors to protect the system from overloads, short circuits, and voltage spikes. We commonly use schneider,ABB,CITEL,etc.,
- Monitoring and Control Systems: These systems allow users to monitor the performance of the solar power system and optimize its operation. They may include data loggers, meters, and remote monitoring capabilities.
- Grounding Equipment: Grounding equipment ensures the safety of the system by providing a path for electrical currents to dissipate harmlessly into the ground.
These components together constitute the balance of system in a solar power system and are crucial for its efficient and safe operation.
